Riding Muse is a luxury horseback-safari brand with stunning visuals and a website that worked against it. In June 2026 I led an optimization sprint that turned a heavy, high-friction portfolio site into a fast, search-optimised lead-generation engine — positioning the brand as a premium tastemaker in the luxury equestrian-travel niche.
Riding Muse had the brand and the imagery, but the site was a high-friction showcase, not a lead engine. Oversized photography (3–6MB per asset) crushed Core Web Vitals, a broken URL was leaking organic equity, and passive branding copy did nothing to qualify or convert high-value enquiries.
Riding Muse (ridingmuse.com) curates luxury horseback safaris and riding holidays worldwide — handpicked equestrian adventures from Africa to the Andes for a discerning, high-budget audience.
Balance strict technical SEO — speed and crawlability — with conversion-rate optimisation, so the brand's premium visuals load fast and actively turn visitors into qualified enquiries. I led the SEO and CRO strategy and worked with development lead Wajeeha Arooj on deployment.
I ran an asset-compression sprint, scaling brand photography from 3–6MB down to web-optimised dimensions without losing visual fidelity, and implemented lazy loading so the browser prioritises above-the-fold content and defers the rest until scroll. I also fixed a critical 404 with a permanent 301 redirect (/where-to-go-destinations → /destinations), preserving existing backlinks and domain authority.
I rebuilt the cluttered destination layout into scalable, editorial cards that surface high-intent filters instantly — Duration, Ideal Season and Location — and expanded the portfolio to nine destinations, adding India, Uganda and Kenya. The disorganised gallery was restructured into clean taxonomy pillars (Adventure, Fashion, Landscape) with breadcrumbs to aid navigation.
I replaced passive branding copy with commercial, intent-driven structure: a keyword-first H1/H2 hierarchy built around high-volume luxury search terms, and an expansive pre-qualification FAQ detailing regional cost brackets (Africa, South America, Asia, Europe), skill requirements, safety protocols and best-timing windows — so the site qualifies buyers before they reach the form. A dedicated thank-you page now powers clean conversion tracking.
I rewrote the search snippet to win high-budget luxury clicks — a keyword-led title and a benefit-driven description inviting global enquiries ("Book curated luxury horse riding safaris globally…").
From a near-zero analytics baseline, the first three months delivered roughly 190 organic clicks and 6,000+ impressions, with the homepage holding position ~3 at a 16.8% click-through rate. The fixed indexing path is live, all nine destinations are crawlable, and high-value commercial queries are already surfacing — the Botswana safari pages alone pulled 2,700+ impressions, ranking low for now, which is exactly the headroom the authority phase will convert. The "what to wear" content is already earning positions (breeches and boots guides at #7–8), validating the Travel Wardrobe Edits play before it's even scaled.
With the technical and structural foundation live, the focus shifts to authority: a high-end digital media kit to pitch editorial lookbooks and earn premium lifestyle backlinks, and a long-term content programme around the signature Travel Wardrobe Edits to differentiate Riding Muse from utility-focused operators — and to turn those high-impression commercial queries into page-one rankings.
