Studio Rogier van den Brink: a new site, SEO in order.

Studio Rogier van den Brink is an architecture firm with projects in Amsterdam, Zaanstad and the surrounding area. I worked on the redesign of the website and on the SEO: crawlability, keywords by location and service, and a clear structure. I have no traceable before-and-after measurement, so I give no figures and make no statement about traffic or rankings. This case describes my method, not a proven result.

The challenge

Studio Rogier van den Brink wanted to improve its website and get the SEO in order along the way. The firm had strong imagery and a simple site that leaned mostly on Instagram.

  • The question to me: advise and think along while the website was being improved.
  • The site had to be crawlable and show up in search engines.
  • The copy and photos were already ready. That saved time and revisions.
  • I have not found a measurement from before the project. That is why I give no figures.

About the client

Studio Rogier van den Brink is an architecture firm with projects in Amsterdam, Zaanstad and the surrounding area. Its work ranges from houses and listed buildings to interiors and furniture.

My approach

I started with the objectives. Together with the firm I fixed three: make the site crawlable and visible in search engines, research keywords by location and service, and redesign the website with a clear structure. Then I looked for example sites that work the way the firm wants and look the way the firm likes. This describes my method in this case. It is not proof that the same approach works for every architecture firm.

What I built

Objectives and keywords

The three objectives were set: crawlable and visible in search engines, the right keywords based on location and service, and a clear structure. I worked with niche keywords tied to location and service.

Examples and redesign

I collected examples of websites that work the way the firm wants or look the way the firm likes. The existing copy and photos stayed the basis. The site was redesigned to perform better without giving up usability, quality or aesthetics.

On-page optimization

I applied on-page optimization to the pages, based on those keywords.

What the figures cannot prove

This case has no figures. This is what I therefore cannot say:

  • There is no before-and-after measurement. I have not found a Search Console or Analytics export from the firm for the period of the project. I say nothing about traffic, positions or enquiries.
  • The firm’s name is a search term in itself. People who know the firm search for its name. That is brand demand. Instagram and new projects can make that demand grow. Without a split between branded and other queries, a traffic figure says little about SEO.
  • Redesign and SEO happened together. A new site changes the structure and the optimization at the same time. Any change in visibility cannot be assigned to one of the two.
  • I do not claim the site is faster. There is no speed measurement.
  • A method is not proof. The approach above is what I did in this case. This case does not show that it works for other architecture firms.

What next

Status on 30 October 2026:

  • This case has no established measurement.
  • With access to the firm’s Search Console I can record the current position, split into brand and non-brand. That is a baseline of today and not a comparison with the situation before the redesign.
  • Until then this case describes a method, not a result.

Frequently asked questions

What does SEO for an architecture firm involve?

For Studio Rogier van den Brink I fixed three objectives: make the site crawlable, research keywords by location and service, and redesign the website with a clear structure. Then I applied niche keywords and on-page optimization. I publish no traffic or ranking figures, because there is no traceable before-and-after measurement.

Which keywords do you choose for an architecture firm?

In this case I chose keywords based on location and service, in the form of niche keywords. That is my method and not a proven recipe. I have no figures showing that this choice produced traffic.

Why does this case contain no figures?

I have not found a Search Console or Analytics measurement from the period of the project. Without a before-and-after measurement and without a split between brand and non-brand, any number would suggest a link I cannot show. That is why there is no figure.
